## Errors / Solutions

### "Initializing..."

* Disable your Windows Defender / any third-party antivirus programs that interfere with Wave.
* Run `Wave.exe` as administrator.

> <mark style="color:$danger;">Note</mark>: This error can also be a visual issue. Attempt to execute a script before trying the instructions above.&#x20;

### "Invalid Key."

* Go to [#vpns](#vpns "mention") and download one of the following: <mark style="color:$info;">Proton</mark>, <mark style="color:$info;">Mullvad</mark>, <mark style="color:$info;">Windscribe</mark>
* On your Windows Taskbar, run Command Prompt as administrator.
* Enter: `ipconfig /flushdns` - Once it's done, close Command Prompt.
* Open Windows Settings: `Time & language` > `Date & time` > `Sync now`
* On your Windows Taskbar, search `%localappdata%`.
* Locate `Wave`: Delete both `Wave` and `Wave.Webview2`.

### Roblox Crashes while using Wave

* Disable your Windows Defender / any third-party antivirus programs that interfere with Wave.
* Run `Wave.exe` as administrator.

### Mismatch Version

* Go to [#bootstrappers](#bootstrappers "mention") and download the following: <mark style="color:$info;">Fishstrap</mark>
* Follow the on-screen instructions if provided.

### Errors 1008 / 1010 / 1001 / 1080

* Go to [#downloads-and-dependencies](#downloads-and-dependencies "mention") and download the following: <mark style="color:$info;">.NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime v6.0.33 x64</mark>
* Restart your PC.
* Disable your Windows Defender / any third-party antivirus programs that interfere with Wave.
* Run `Wave.exe` as administrator. If that doesn't work, run the installer as administrator.

### Internal Error

* Open Windows Security.
* On the side panel, go to `App & browser control`.
* In *Smart Control*, click `Smart App Control settings`.
* Make sure Smart Control is turned `Off`.
* Force close Wave and retry.
